Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

WHY? Simply put, I enjoy a challenge and the South Downs Trailwalker is probably one of the most enduring things I am likely to ever do. I was due to enter the 2017 event but had to withdraw due to personal commitments and last year's event was cancelled due to high temperatures.

Enter 2019, I've a number of small to medium distance walks under my belt including the Ridgeway walk last year with the old man (well done Dad!) - and we put in a respectable 40 miles in 12 hours. So now I'm prepping for this next challenge. It's going to be bloody tough, I know that. Blisters, aching legs, tough terrain, darkness and cold. Silver lining ....?

I'm one of a team of four battle hardened current and ex cops ready to take on this monumental challenge - Adrian "cycled across Africa" Pinnock, Jayson "ultra fit terminator" Richards and Sophie Crathern. Sophie was part of the team in 2017 that completed the event in just over 21 hours in horrendous conditions - WOW. And then me. Fiercely competitive and want to beat this 21 hour time! 😁

We will also be vitally supported by two other members, one of which a James John having completed this event in the past a ridiculous 7 times - what a guy!

So how can you help? We need to raise £1400 as a team just £350 a member so I would massively appreciate it if you could reach into your pockets and help me out 🙏🏽

The Charity

Trailwalker is the endurance challenge of a lifetime. Around 500 teams of 4 will take on 100km of the South Downs Way in September. All the while, helping to end poverty with each step. The money raised will be used by Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust to improve lives around the world.

Oxfam is a movement of millions of people, all working towards one goal - an end to poverty to everyone. In over 70 years we've become world leaders in emergency water and sanitation, and experts in providing shelter, food and protection.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provide financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities in Nepal as well as welfare advice to the UK Gurkha Community.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
