Story
Just under 10 years ago I was given an opportunity to potentially save someone’s life through the Anthony Nolan Foundation. At that point I had no idea who the recipient was, male or female young or old. All I knew was that by me donating my stem cells that this person would have a chance to survive.
Fast forward 2 years later and I received a contact email from the mother of a little boy named Olly. The transplant had been successful and Olly was given a fighting chance of life. For the first time I was able to hear about Olly’s story and what the simple procedure in donating my stem cells had done for him and his family.
I was lucky enough to meet Olly and his wonderful family on the 1st of April 2016 and have stayed in touch to this day.
Had it not been for the Anthony Nolan Foundation Olly’s chances of survival would be slim to none. The work they do is simply amazing but like all charities heavily relies on fundraising events such as these for them to continue operating.
Please have a read through Olly’s story below and help raise awareness for this truly wonderful organisation.
