Story
A little girl has moved into the village where we live. Her
name is Grace and she is three years old. Her body is given over to
uncontrollable muscle spasms and cramps.
She can’t walk, she can’t talk but she CAN respond, she CAN smile and
she CAN melt your heart with her eyes.
THERE IS HOPE FOR GRACE
When Grace was born she became the 17th child in the World
to be diagnosed with a condition dubbed ‘RHOBTB2’. No one including the experts is entirely sure what this means. For certain as Grace grows, her treatment, her home life and the lives of her parents will need to grow and adapt with her.
THERE IS A WALK FOR GRACE
When Lockdown Phase Two started we (six guys from my
village) started walking. Socially distanced, Covid responsibly we are walking each day, sometimes alone, other times in pairs to put in some miles across the open fields that surround our village. Over 28
days our collective aim is to walk 1,000 miles for Grace; to raise awareness of the ‘Hope For Grace Charity’ to raise funds for Grace’s treatment and to bring some positivity to the challenge of this four week lockdown period.
Our proclamation! :
WE WILL WALK 500 MILES
AND WE WILL WALK 500 MORE
ALL WITHIN THIS CURRENT LOCKDOWN
TO SEE THAT A LITTLE GIRL CALLED GRACE HAS HOPE
THAT’S WHAT WE’RE WALKING FOR.
