Story

To thank the staff at Kingston hospital for everything they are doing for us due to Covid-19, starting on Saturday 4th April I will be walking an ultramarathon on a treadmill in our living-room.

I will be doing this as a part of the Quarantine Backyard Ultra (https://personalpeak.ca/quarantinebackyard), which is an elimination race in which competitors are required to run or walk 4.17 miles (6.7km) every hour until there is only one person left.  That is 100 miles a day!

Normally these races are held outdoors but with a worldwide lockdown, over 1,000 competitors across the world will be doing this race on treadmills or their own backyards.  In my case, we don't have a backyard so I have brought a second-hand treadmill and will be attempting to complete at least 200 miles in 48 hours.

I have competed in this type of race previously, winning the Last One Standing England race in 2018 with a total of 36 hours.

Please show your thanks to the NHS, and their staff, by donating a little towards this excellent cause.
