Story

I began walking from Canterbury towards Dover on the 8th April 2010. 79 days later, on 26th June, I arrived in Rome.

My two companions and I followed the ancient "Via Francigena" across France, over the St Bernard Pass (2,469 m) and on into Italy. By the time we reached Rome, two of us had spent a day in hospital and we had all faced a tricky survival situation in the Alps. I had also survived numerous blisters, a shin bone inflammation and the loss of 9 lbs in body weight.

The support of donors has been a huge encouragement to me on this journey. Please continue to pray for me and, if you have not already done so, please make a generous donation to the Dominican Sisters of St Joseph via this page. The sisters have been a great source of spiritual encouragement to me over the years.

With thanks and blessings,

Nicholas Steven
