Walking for Krysia
Fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Action
We did it! In total I walked 412 miles and Clare walked 190 miles in memory of Krysia Eddie and for Ovarian Cancer Action and Macmillan Cancer Support. I’m sure she would have been proud of us and appreciated the blisters, sweat, aches and odd swear word involved!
Krysia died on the 12th of June 2009, she had been unwell for a couple of months and found out on her birthday in march last year that she had ovarian cancer. My sister and I were fortunate enough to visit her in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary before she passed away. Krysia was from Elgin, Scotland, so it made sense that walking the whole length of the country would be a fitting memorial to her. I started in Jedburgh on the 12th June and finished at John O’Groats on the 8th of July, Clare joined me at Spean Bridge, near Fort William on the 27th of June.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
