Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Tom was a member of the Tendring District Council Beach Patrol team as one of our seafront wardens.Tom was based predominantly at our Dovercourt station.
Tom Petley sadly died on April 21st 2022 at the age of 20. Tom was found in his bed having passed away by his mum. Toms death was deeply shocking to all his family and friends. In the aftermath of Tom's death, his family were all supported by Cardiac Risk in the Young. CRY arranged for all immediate family to be tested to see if they were at risk.
Tendring District Council Beach Patrol teams past and present will be taking part in a 50km walk visiting every Beach patrol station in the district from Brightlingsea through to the Dovercourt via Clacton, Frinton & walton to raise funds for CRY.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
