Thank you for visiting our Walk for Iraq 2011 fundraising page.
We are delighted to announce that we have completed a 23km walk from Glynde to Seaford in the UK on Saturday 10th of September 2011. All funds are being donated to Help the Needy Charitable Trust (www.helptheneedy.org.uk), a UK registered charity (Reg. No. 1059951) which provides aid to orphans and widows. The charity's focus for this year is the "Empowering the Widows of Mesopotamia" project by Help the Needy Charitable Trust working with Dr. Lamees Ibrahim, in which we hope to raise a minimum of £20,000 with your support.
We aim to radically improve lives of many widows by helping them attain job placements, better healthcare and education. Helping these women to become self-sufficient will therefore help their families and children, aiding in the redevelopment of Iraq. Your donation will allow this goal to be achieved.
The challenging journey we have set for this year is rated with a toughness of 8 out of 10 which took place through lush valleys, Saxon settlements and then through to the beautiful chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters. It is your support that will drive us forward and make a difference to the lives of the widows and their families.
If you are overseas, justgiving.com will convert your local currency into GBP (pounds). Please note: If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Our mission is to provide for the least fortunate orphans and widows worldwide. Our sponsorships provide food, healthcare, shelter, primary education and all life essentials. We currently also respond to natural disasters wherever they may be.
