Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 17th June 2023, we are attempting to trek 5 peaks in 5 hours in the beautiful Lake District as part of the MS Society challenge 5in5.
In 2017 Will's world was turned upside down when he was suddenly diagnosed with MS, a life-changing condition that currently has no cure. There are estimated over 130,000 people with MS in the UK, and each year nearly 7,000 people are newly diagnosed. This means around 1 in every 500 people in the UK lives with MS.
When Will was diagnosed it was an incredibly scary time full of uncertainty and fear. However the MS Society exists to provide answers to the countless questions, and offer some stability and support throughout the process.
Due to ground-breaking research and investment, there has been significant progress in the treatment of MS in recent years. Thankfully Will is now on some incredible medication which helps to stabilise his symptoms. The MS Society's vision is a world free from the effects of MS, so we want to contribute to this amazing charity to help make this dream a reality.
Our mission is to: Raise money for MS; Raise awareness of MS to a wider audience; Give people hope that after a life-changing diagnosis, life can be fuller and richer than you ever imagined.
