Greece Aid Road Trip
Fundraising for Doctors of the World UK
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 25th of June, myself and a couple of others are packing two 7.5 tonne aid trucks and going on a road trip across Europe to deliver aid to support the refugees in Greece.
Unfortunately, due to a combination of the numbers of refugees arriving (currently standing at over 50000) and the current economic situation in Greece, the camps in Greece are particularly in need of aid and support.
The trip will deliver over 2000 gift packs consisting of everyday essentials such as tooth brushes, combs, nail trimmers etc and will be handed out to celebrate the festival of Eid marking the end of the fasting at the holy month of Ramadan.
To help in the effort, this appeal is for any contribution you can make to a UK charity called Doctors of the World.
This charity provides medical assistance and aid to refugees on the Greek islands, as well as in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, through clinics in nine European countries including France, Germany and the UK. They have been providing medical help on the ground in Calais since 2003.
In terms of donation.....
- £7 could provide a hygiene kit for a Syrian refugee
- £27 could provide three psychological consultations for survivors of war and conflict
- £100 could pay for one doctor and two nurses to staff a health clinic for one day.
