Our team at Wain Homes have decided to take part in the Dragon Boat Race Challenge to raise money for The Christie Cancer Charity in Manchester. We have chosen this particular charity for the event as The Christie has recently helped one of our own here at Wain...

Here's our story..

Our lovely colleague Lisa Klieve joined Wain Homes just over a year ago as a Sales Executive on our Forge Manor Development, but sadly after just four months with us Lisa’s husband Mike was diagnosed with terminal cancer with a prognosis of  6-12 months. Mike was offered to take part in a clinical trial at The Christie, with the hand he had been dealt felt he had nothing to lose. Over most of the last year Mike has undergone intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, and after months and months of appointments Mike and Lisa have recently had the results of the scan following his last treatment to reveal that it has worked! The scan was normal and Mike has been given a second chance, although he still has a some rehabilitation to conquer both Mike and Lisa are totally overwhelmed with their current blessings and also that we have chosen The Christie as our charity to fundraise for in this event.
