Skydiving to raise money for VSO!

VSO ICS** · 31 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
Hi everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page, maybe you
can make this your good deed of the day?
I will be doing a skydive in January, to raise £800 for VSO before I go on a 3month placement with them, at the start of February 2018. Although quite a big target, I know with a little generosity it is very attainable. I want to clarify that NONE of the money raised will go towards the cost of me travelling, 100% of the money goes directly to VSO to help them to continue their great work. Anything you can donate no matter the value would be very appreciated!
What is VSO?
VSO (voluntary overseas service) is charity that currently operates in over 24 developing countries, where they are committed to alleviating poverty. Some of the work they do includes but is not limited to; helping vulnerable children receive an education, supporting people with HIV, helping to improve food security, improving agricultural practices, tackling issues around unemployment, stopping child marriage, and advocating for marginalised people, to help give them a voice and ultimately change legislation.
I will personally be going to live with a host family in Cambodia, where I will be volunteering for 3 months!
Although Cambodia has trades in agriculture and garment making industries it still remains one of the poorest countries in the world,
and with a third of its population under the age of 15, youth employment is a big priority. VSO’s mission in Cambodia is to help make education available for ALL children, and to help build youth economic empowerment. VSO is also supporting and training poor farmers to help improve their food and financial security, aswell as advocating for policy change on behalf of marginalised groups in the agricultural sector. All of which I will be involved with whilst volunteering for VSO.
Please, please help support this cause and contribute to making sustainable change for the future... and if your not in a position to do so financially, then even sharing this would be a big help!
As Nelson Mandela said
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
Thank you in advance for your kindness! Erin xxx
