Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page and an interest in our initiative to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now.
Last year, our Volvo FH Turbo compound tractor unit set a new record on fuel economy in a well-publicised road test carried out by Commercial Motor magazine. Since then, lots of customer have benefitted from the cost savings and we would like to encourage more customers to trial the trucks for themselves and appreciate the difference it could make to fuel costs along with already exceptional standards on safety and quality.
For the next 12 month’s one of our demonstrators will be liveried in BCN graphics and were asking customers to make a minimum of £100 donation to the charity after each demonstration. Of course, we would hugely appreciate if more could be donated and absolutely anyone is free to make a donation.
The haulage industry has rightly received huge credit for keeping the country moving throughout the pandemic and we’re hoping it will be equally as keen to support this initiative. We’ll also be offering opportunities in each of our dealerships to make smaller donations along with some BCN merchandise.
Despite around 55,000 women and 370 men being diagnosed with breast cancer each year, it remains the most common cancer in the UK with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. Although, breast cancer survival in the UK has improved substantially over the years, it remains a very sad fact that around 11,500 women and 80 men die from breast cancer each year in the UK. That’s one person every 45 minutes, the same time as a routine HGV driver’s daily rest break!
