Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I will be running the Great North Run on Sunday on 13th September to raise money for Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
Rainbows Children's Hospice is an amazing place that has supported us at the most difficult time and is continuing to help us in many ways.
Our little girl Annika was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of brain tumour when she was only 7 weeks old. Despite all the medical efforts, 5 months later it became apparent that she could not overcome it. At that point we made the difficult decision to move to Rainbows.
Rainbows provided us with a warm and loving environment that enabled us to make the most of the little time we had left with Annika. And despite everything, the hospice is really quite a joyful place. Annika definitely benefited moving from the hospital to Rainbows and we spend nearly 5 weeks there during which we were able to collect many positive memories thanks to the wonderful staff.
Running the Great North Run and trying to raise some money is part of my attempt to give something back to Rainbows. As a charity, Rainbow’s Children’s Hospice is funded entirely by donations, so please support it by making a donation.
