Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My 9 year old cousin Eve passed away in November 2013 after a 5 year battle with cancer.  She spent time at Claire House children's hospice in her final months with her mummy, Rachael and daddy, Damian.  As a mother myself and seeing how bravely fought over the last 5 years, the thought of losing Eve was just unimaginable, but for Rachael this became a horrendous reality.  I asked Rachael to tell me what Claire House meant to her and this is what she said " oh where to start.  They offered fantastic emotional support and allowed Eve to have fun during really tough times And made her feel so special.  I was able to relax and watch Eve have fun knowing she was in great hands.  Nothing was too much to ask for when we visited, and you know how important it was to me that I got to stay with Eve after she passed.  They made such a horrible time a hell of a lot easier.  There was always someone to talk to, even in the middle of the night if me or Damian needed it.  It's just an amazing place".  Claire House runs on charity money and end of life care is not the only service they provide.

So far, with the help of my Tough Mudder 2014 team mates, I've raised £2490 but as this is such a special place, I want to keep fundraising.  Along with my fellow Tough Mudder team mates we will be running Tough Mudder again on 12th September 2015.  This is a challenge that pushed us to our limits last time, running 12miles through mud, being electrocuted, swimming in ice water, crawling through dirt tunnels and much more.
