Virginia loved to help others. She was always there to do whatever she could to make someone else's life better and easier.

Following her retirement from teaching, she began volunteering three days a week for Citizens Advice, which she loved. Her favourite day each week was what she called her 'Macmillan day', when she would give help and support to those touched by cancer.

On Wednesday 9 February 2022, a clear and beautiful day, Virginia went for a bike ride. Tragically, she suffered a stroke from which she was unable to recover. On Saturday 12 February she passed away peacefully with her family around her.

We have been so grateful for the lovely memories and kind words people have been sharing with us since that day. We have spoken often of how passionate she was about her volunteer work, and so we are asking for donations towards this wonderful charity.
