Story
Being a part of the Leeds Children's Transplant Team means so much to Violet, and she looks forward to the British Transplant Games every year - literally counting down the days. Violet was so disappointed that the Games couldn't go ahead in Summer 2020 or 2021, but she was determined to still honour her donors by running the 3k Donor Run on her own (with Mum and Dad cheering her on!) each year. The 2020 3k which Violet ran was particularly special, as it came at the end of 95 days of shielding at home through the pandemic.
The 2022 British Transplant Games will be very special as after what has been an extremely challenging two years for everyone. The Games will reunite the transplant recipients & families, live donors and donor families from across the UK, to celebrate, remember and give thanks for the gift of life. For the Leeds Adults & Childrens Teams, it will be a particularly special year as they will be competing on home turf and will have the honour of hosting the British Transplant Games in the city where they all received their transplants. The costs of a team attending and competing in the British Transplant Games are huge, and all teams are reliant on fundraising to be able to attend.
If you can support Violet's fundraising for the return of the BTG next year, it would mean the world to her, to us and to all the wonderful children of the Leeds Transplant Team. Any small contributions would be so gratefully received and will go towards giving a truly amazing bunch of children the opportunity to build their confidence, strengthen their resilience and nurture friendships through the magic of Transplant Sport.

One thing we couldn't fundraise for while Violet was waiting for her lifesaving transplant, was the very special gift that she desperately relied on. So regardless of whether you are able to support her fundraising with a financial donation, please consider donating five minutes of your time to talk to your family about your organ donation wishes. Leave them certain. 💜
