Story
Thank you for supporting my fundraising.
I will be taking a jump from last year's half marathon and running in this year's Edinburgh Marathon on May 26th to help raise funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.
I will be running the marathon in memory of Mair's Mom, Mary, who sadly passed away at the age of just 39 years, leaving behind a loving husband and five young kids.
Ireland has the third highest rate of cancer in the world, ranked only behind Australia and New Zealand, according to a global report; while in the UK there are more than 360,000 new cancer cases every year. We all have a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer at some point. Each year, with the help of research and the correct support, more and more people are beating Cancer. But not everyone can be that lucky. I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to support men and women, and their young kids who are living with the hell that is cancer, and in memory of those who have sadly lost the fight, leaving behind heartbroken family and friends.
Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. So whatever cancer throws your way, they are right right there with you.
