Story
Taz says: so...because I'm staring down the barrel of a significant birthday this year, I wanted to do something meaningful to raise money for one of my favourite local charities. The Whitechapel centre is such an important cause in Liverpool, working tirelessly to support the homeless population of the city.
So I signed up to take on the Liverpool Cathedral Abseil. Descending from 150 feet down this iconic Liverpool Landmark. Stepping off the platform at the top, walking down the wall to the arches before taking the final plunge to slip down using the rope only...Just the very thought of that fills me with trepidation... I am TERRIFIED of heights and don't even like looking at the top of the cathedral some days! I was hoping that I'd raise enough sponsorship that I'd have no choice but to make that final move over the edge.
BUT THEN... of course I have the best friends in the world ever, and the very best of them, Ruth Burrell, said "would you like some company on your abseil?" So now, because she's wonderful and possibly the other half of the box of frogs that exists in my head, she's leaping off the cathedral too. If she's very lucky, I won't be sick all over her shoes when we get to the top.
Anything that you can spare for sponsorship of this adventure would be much appreciated.
