Story
So....I have set myself a challenge! Eek!
On Sunday 3rd July I will be taking part in the Snowdon Climb on behalf of Twins Trust Bereavement Support Group. I have been a volunteer (a befriender) with this amazing charity for the last 5 years and I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness for Twins Trust.
Twins Trust runs a Bereavement Support Group (BSG) to help families cope with the loss of one or more of their multiples. While other charities offer bereavement support, Twins Trust are the only one in the UK specifically for multiple birth families.
This charity is especially close to my heart as, in 2012, we found out our twin girls had died at the 16 week scan - they were born 2 days later. It was a devastating time in our lives but knowing that I can now support families going through the same devastation brings some comfort to me. I will be climbing in memory of our twin girls, and for all the babies I have had the absolute honour of hearing about through Twins Trust who have sadly died.
The money raised will go to Twins Trust Bereavement Group and help fund new literature, befriender training, their yearly Memorial meet up and other 'in person' events as well help them to continue to provide much needed support to the bereaved families and friends, and health professionals who support families following the death of a twin, triplet or more.
Thank you so much for your support - it is so much appreciated!
