Story

In 2015 we rode 1,200 kms across the Cambodian jungle on Honda XR250s. Riding off road across rivers, rocks and swamps was a challenge in itself, but heat exhaustion, humidity, and hundreds of horrible biting things pushed us well beyond our physical and emotional limits. We raised over £16,000 for Great Ormond Street and we made a short film for YouTube:

During that adventure we came across an unexploded rocket bomb that could have killed us. We met families who lost limbs and loved ones by simply finding these things lying around. These small bombs were intentionally designed to look interesting to children, who pick them up, and they explode.

We cannot imagine our kids living on unsafe land. We are raising money so that more of this beautiful countryside can be cleared of these evil devices.

In November 2017 we will attempt to double our previous distance on a journey that will take us along several thousand kilometers of Vietnamese jungle along the borders with Laos and China. It's an area so remote that much of it can only be reached on off road bikes like ours.

We have been training hard in the Welsh mountains for what will be a far tougher challenge than Cambodia, and that will require even more grit, determination, and insect repellent.

This is obviously a totally self funded trip, every single penny goes to the charity, and even the smallest amount helps. We are meeting the charity in Hanoi, and they will be at our start point to send us off and wish us well.

Thank you!

About the charity

Every single day, 13 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
