Hi!
I'm Victoria and I am running the Belfast City Marathon this May for Brainstrust. I am up to 15 miles now and starting to really get excited about the big event! I have always hoped that one day I would run the marathon and I have been inspired to go for it this year by my friend Andy. Andy passed away last year following the diagnosis of a brain tumour. Andy ran the London marathon and I remember how impressed I was because I always thought it must be such a challenging experience. I hope he would be glad that I am going to do one too. I decided to run for Brainstrust because I truly feel it is a cause that is close to my heart. When I researched into the charity's values and future plans, I wholeheartedly agree with their intention to divide the support they receive between both research and palliative care.
Many thanks for taking the time to have a look at my page.
Best wishes,
Victoria
UPDATE:
Hi everyone,
just a wee update on training. I have been struggling with a knee injury for the last few weeks but I have overcome it now and on Sunday I did my longest run yet and I am now up to 19miles! :-) I would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity, I have been overwhelmed by the support and it was thinking of all you that got me through my latest three and a half hour run. It is only 50days now until the big marathon day and I am getting really excited! My plan is to do one more long run, I am hoping for around twenty-two miles and then I will start winding down with around a month to go.
I hope all is good with you and thank you for all your support.
Best wishes,
vic
UPDATE:
Hello all,
Just to say a truly massive thank-you to all you generous people for sponsoring me. I really appreciate all your support. I completed my last big training run with my friend Laura, who is also running the marathon this year and we covered 21miles. I am very excited now that the big day is less than 3 weeks away and I can't wait!
I hope all is good with you and thanks again :-)
