Story
I am writing this message on behalf of my family in respect of my late husband William Mortimer-Harvey ( in business “Bill Harvey”)sadly died at the young age of 49. He had spent most of his working life marketing specialty chemicals, latterly as a company Director. He was always conscious of his responsibilities towards his fellow co-workers, in the board-room and equally on the factory floor, and of course his family—me Anna, daughters Kate & Victoria, & son Hugo.
Above all, he has been an inspiration to his children------now Victoria spending her 40th birthday doing the Florida Ironman Triathlon (2 ½ miles swim in the sea,-followed by
112 miles cycling- followed by
26 miles running )------------------------
We chose The Richard House Children’s Hospice as William spent several years working in the East End as his Grandfather & Gt. Aunts had done many years before.
A Children’s Hospice was the natural choice for one who had such a love & affinity with children.
Please support her mammoth effort,--a considerable commitment carrying out the
training at the same time as working in London,( where she commutes from Buckinghamshire) as a personal injury lawyer,-plus the other full-time job as wife & Mother
-----------------------WOW---------------------------------BRILL!

And now a message from me, Vicki aka Toria.
As most of you will already know, I have enjoyed doing triathlons of varying distances for the last five years. As I am now approaching my 40th birthday (I know it is hard to believe!) I wanted to do something different and in loving memory of my father, who I still miss dearly. And so, insired by the late Jane Tomlinson I set my goal at completing the Florida Ironman. Why Florida? Well if I am going to do this I at least want a good holiday and nice weather out of it...
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking all of you for supporting me in this challenge by donating your hard earned cash to the very worthy cause - Richard House Trust.
I would also like to thank my long suffering husband, Noel, who has supported throughout this challenge and my many pursuits in the past. I love you very much and couldn't have done it without your support.
A big thank you goes out to my beautiful daughter, Georgie, who is my number one fan.
In addition I cannot forget Andy, my trainer and Tracey, my sports therapist. Andy has been invaluable to me in my training and has given up many hours (too many for me to count) in helping me prepare for the task ahead of me both physically and mentally. And Tracey has helped patch up my tired and aching muscles. Thank you both very much.
Now, after 11 months training, 6 months improving my basic level of fitness and 5 months working on stamina and endurance, all that is left for me to do is the Ironman itself on the 3rd November 2007..............................I will let you know how I get on, but hopefully will be celebrating with champagne on the 4th!!!! and thinking of my next challenge. Watch this space.
