Story
Hi, thank you for visiting my page. I moved to Lytham during the first lockdown in 2020 from Burnley, Lancashire. My mother sadly passed away in November 2019 after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. St Anne’s was always a happy place I came with my mum when the cancer spread and showed it’s ugly head again.
I never really felt happy in my home town so when she died I decided to have a fresh start. Following the passing of my mother I raised almost 15,000 for local Burnley charities which include the Pendleside hospice and BKS Heroes who support brain and kidney disease research. I’ve hosted a charity ball and a sponsored sky dive and take part in fundraisers whenever I can.
I now have primarily turned my attention to fundraising for charities across the Fylde coast since this is my new place I call home 😊
I moved to st Anne’s in 2020 and didn’t know a single person, I also had never really heard about the RNLI. Since moving to the seaside and meeting my next door neighbour Tracey Hope I learned all about the saving lives at sea organisation. Tracey is trainee crew and encouraged me to walk 5k through May 2020/2021 as part of the leg it for Lytham RNLI Fundraiser.
In May last year me and my little boy Henry (6 years) set off on our 5k trek from Lytham to St Anne’s, Henry surprised me by saying he wanted to carry onto Blackpool. Since that day this has been a massive adventure, Henry has cycled 2 separate 10 mile journeys from Lytham-Blackpool to Blackpool to Fleetwood, I don’t like cycling particularly so I had no option to run alongside my son in his quest to raise money and awareness for RNLI.
Since then we have had fundraising events in Morcambe and Scarborough, to date Henry has raised £1,234 for the amazing RNLI which inspired me to apply to run the London Marathon. Never in a million years did I expect to get a place but it’s happening 😊 I want to make my boy as proud as he’s made me. I am by no means a runner so I’ve A MASSIVE amount of work to do (wish me luck)
I have been visiting different lifeboat stations with collection buckets as Elsa with my other wonderful princesses, lots of work has gone into fundraising but we’ve brought lots of smiles to lots of children and it’s been a great experience 🛟
Any donation will go towards this amazing cause and I thank you in advance for your kindness xxx
Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLIs help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe. RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. Theyre the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place. Thank you.
