Story
I am now 22 and have been diagnosed with two cancers in my life.
When I was 3 I was diagnosed with Wilms, for those that don't know, cancer of the kidney. I underwent chemotherapy treatment, a right nephrectomy and whole abdominal radiotherapy.
At 21 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, a possible cause of which being the radiotherapy that saved my life 19 years earlier. I have had a double mastectomy and 6 rounds of chemotherapy.
Today I am 4 months post chemo and rebuilding my strength.
This is my way of giving back. I hope that more research will find the cure to something that effects so many. Thanks to the knowledge our Doctors and Nurses already have, means they have given me a chance to be here today and I can continue to plan my future.
I will swim the distance of the English Channel at my local swimming pool over the course of 12 weeks. That's 1,416 lengths in total!
