Story
As most of you will already know, my Mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's over twelve years ago now. Consequently despite having never abseiled before, I am planning (no, going - have to be positive here!) to abseil down the iconic Liverpool Cathedral on 18th August this year in aid of Parkinson's UK.
Those who know me well, will know that I am not the bravest of people when it comes to things like this.
I've had opportunities to abseil in the past but have always 'chickened out' when the time comes. Neither am I the sort of person who always wants to go on the big and scary rides at amusement parks.
I therefore hope you can appreciate how much of a challenge it is going to be for me to complete this abseil, although I myself fully appreciate that it is nothing compared to the challenges that individuals living with Parkinson's have to deal with each day.
Since her diagnosis, my Mum has been an inspiration to me as she continues to fight her condition so that she can live life to its fullest each day. I firmly believe that if I can face this challenge with only a fraction of the strength and determination that my Mum demonstrates each day just by carrying on, then I will succeed.
I will be extremely grateful for any donation that you feel able to give.
