Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am climbing the four highest peaks in the Lake District in 3 days (including the highest mountain in England!) to raise money for the Alzheimers Society in memory of my Nan, Beryl who suffered with dementia for a number of years. The trek takes place from 23 - 26 June 2012 and I will be climbing Skiddaw (931m 3055ft), Scafell (964m 3163ft), Scafell Pike (978m 3209ft) and Helvellyn (950m 3117ft).
Please help me support a worthy cause & give me lots of incentive to keep walking by sponsoring me - every penny counts!
About Dementia & the Alzheimers Society
Dementia is a term used to describe various different brain disorders, including Alzheimers, that have in common a loss of brain function that is usually progressive and eventually severe. It currently affects about 750 000 people in the UK but only 40% of sufferers are diagnosed.
The Alzheimers Society provides support for sufferers and families of those with dementia as well as performing research to investigate treatments and ultimately find a cure.
Dementia is a distressing and debilitating condition for both the sufferer and those people close to them so please donate some money to help improve the lives of the 750 000 sufferers and their families and friends.
