Story
♡ this last year saw me turn 40, the same age my Mum was when she died suddenly. It has also been the most challenging time of my life learning to heal my unresolved traumatic grief. Grief is a universal experience although emotionally a completely unique one. I truly believe by talking about it more openly can help us develop skills to cope with loss, support others and recognise the importance of self-compassion.
♡ in the summer I started volunteering for Cruse Bereavement Support. The charity helps to support people through one of the most painful times in life. It is such a privilege to listen to people’s experiences, acknowledging the courage they have to reach out and how strength and resilience is always present regardless of their experience.
♡ so in part to raise awareness of the conversations we need about grief, to raise money for an amazing charity and in memory of my Mum I am running (sometimes down grading to hiking) 100 miles in October. If you would like to sponsor me please follow the link and thank you for taking the time to read this post.
This October people all over the country will joining together to run, walk, cycle or swim a combined 40,075 km (around the whole world!) and raise crucial funds for Cruse Bereavement Care at the same time, and I'll be joining them! Grief is a natural process, but it can be devastating. The impact of Coronavirus will be long lasting, and already more people than ever are reaching out to Cruse Bereavement Care for support. The money raised through The Big Coastal Challenge will help Cruse Bereavement Care to ensure that bereaved people get the support they need, when they need it most. Will you help me raise money for Cruse Bereavement Care and together we can be there for everyone who is grieving? Thank you so much.
