Story
In July my daughter suffered eclampsia during pregnancy and my Grandson Caleb was born at East Surrey Hospital 10 weeks early via emergency C-section. He weighed little more than a bag of sugar and would normally have been transferred immediately to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey.
Thanks to Olive's Appeal and the SASH Charity, Caleb was able to stay at East Surrey Hospital close to his parents and the support of his extended family. He has gone from strength to strength and I truly believe that as well as the amazing work that all the staff at East Surrey Hospital have done to aid his progress, he has flourished as a result of one or both of his parents being by his side everyday.
Every year nearly 500 babies need special care from East Surrey Hospital at the very start of their lives. Many are very small, fitting in the palm of your hand. Some need to stay in hospital for months before they are well enough to go home. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at East Surrey provides them with the very best care.
Please help me raise funds for state-of-the-art equipment and better facilities for all their families and to show my appreciation for all they have done for my family.
