Story

So last year i decided to run a half marathon in memory of a dear friend of mine and raised a lot of money for charity thanks to you wonderful people. However as i am clearly mental, me and my equally mental friend Maddie have decided to inflict even more pain on ourselves by doing the rock and roll marathon in Washington D.C.!!! 14th March 2015.

I had all intention of running the full marathon but unfortunately I was very ill last year and told by doctors that I couldn't run. Still not 100% fit but I am allowed to do the half even if I have to crawl it!

13.1 miles around the capital city, which so happens to be on my late Nan's birthday. My Nan died following a stroke in August 2012, it wasn't the first one she'd had but it sadly took her life.

Since 2012 i have also watched my mum and other family members suffer from strokes. Every year there are approximately 152,00 strokes in the UK alone. That's one every three and a half minutes.

I wouldn't want any family to go through the devastating loss that we did and hope that by raising money more funding into stroke research can be achieved.
