Virtual Three Peaks Challenge · 20 June 2020 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

We're both doing the Virtual 3 Peaks Challenge to:

  1. Raise money for the great causes the Railway Children support
  2. Stay sane (& healthy) during lockdown

We're doing the 'vertical' challenge which is 21,400 steps (up & down), equating to climbing the 3 Peaks of Ben Nevis, Snowdon & Scafell Pike. 0% of the donations we raise will go towards our rapidly-wearing-out carpet. We hope to raise £50 per person, per peak for the charity.

Vicky: It's not the effort or the outdoors that mainly puts me off climbing mountains, it's the rustly clothing. I'm looking forward to climbing the 3 Peaks (or maybe more!) virtually mainly to raise money for the Railway Children, but also to prevent me turning into an actual potato during lockdown. Bring it on!

Dom: Since completing the 3 Peaks by Rail in 2014, work has always got in the way of taking part in it again and raising some more money for a great cause. In the mad year that is 2020, it's time to scale the heights once again. Hoping the weather is better this time!
