Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So please dig deep and donate now. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I have taken up the challenge to take part in The GUCR, this is a non-stop 145 mile ultra marathon starting in Birmingham and finishing in London. Being the longest and reportedly toughest endurance race in the UK.

My Grandmother suffers from Vascular Dementia, this is a progressive illness which changes the personality of the person concerned so that they can become unaware of who and where they are, they can become withdrawn, violent, confused and unhappy.

Queens Court in Bottisham has a Dementia Unit where my Grandmother now lives, it is a lovely friendly place with Staff who really care.  The money I raise will go to help the residents of this Dementia Unit in anyway it can for instance, a trip out or, for activities for the residents to use during the day enabling them to keep active and amused.
