Story

We have chosen to raise money for St Giles hospice this year because of the support our family received in 2003.

Our Mum was admitted into St Giles hospice in late February 2003 after a 14 month battle with cancer. The care she received was exceptional, all the staff genuinely cared for her well being physically and mentally, the support our whole family received was fantastic. Every member of staff we met always had time to listen when everything became too much to cope with and always had a hug to spare.

Towards the end of our mums life the staff organised a family meal for us as this was what our Mum desperately wanted to do,  this is such a special memory for us and her grandchildren, this just shows the extra mile the staff are willing to go to.

When our Mum passed away on 28th March 2003 the support continued through the early days and months of grieving for her.

The solstice walk is a way we can raise money, so that other families can receive the special care we experienced, please support Jan's Girls and sponsor us on our Solstice Walk.
