Story
Hi dear family and friends, I turn 30 (physically) this year and while it is presumptious to assume birthday gifts, I'm swimming the "Bantham Swoosh" event in aid of Level Water which is a charity that provides swimming lessons to disabled children - a much more worthy cause than me! I'd be ever so grateful for a small donation to help me achieve my fundraising goal for this event and would much rather a donation in honour of my 30th than a physical gift, as it helps the planet out too :)
The Bantham Swoosh is a 6km swim down the final stretch of the river Avon before it enters the sea at Bantham beach. It's called the Swoosh as the channel narrows as it enters the beach, so when you're swimmming with the flow, it creates a "swoosh" effect (apparently).
Many thanks, kind regards and best wishes,
Vicky/Victoria :)
By taking on the Bantham Swoosh I'm raising money for Level Water, a charity who use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Starting with 1-1 swimming lessons, they provide opportunities for the children to learn to swim. From physical development to social and emotional confidence, swimming is a vehicle to change their lives for the better. And they believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
