I am running the Great North Run for my mother-in-law Barbara Hawkins who lost her fight against Bowel Cancer in 2012. Barbara was so brave, she never complained, she showed great courage and was an inspiration to me and my family, a truly amazing person.

I would like to raise money in her memory and to help others who are diagnosed with this terrible condition and hope that through research a cure can be found.
