Story
Hi everyone! Vicky, Chris and I are fundraising again for an incredible cause. Unfortunately, last time, our awesome friend Chris was hit by a car and injured too badly to do the ride. Because we promised we would complete it together we are back and this time fundraising for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
CYCLISTS FIGHTING CANCER enables children and young people living with cancer across the UK to regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems, other equipment and support. The impact that this has on the lives of the children effected and their families is simply amazing.
We lost our beautiful uncle Richard to cancer, which was, as you can imagine, a huge loss to us all. Richard was such a lovely man and doted on the children in our family. My sister, Chris and I love cycling and so, raising money on our bikes for a charity that supports children in cycling just seems perfect. I remember the joy of my first BMX and I'd hate to think that, any child that is going through, or has come through cancer, may not be able to ride a bike. Missing out on the freedom and independence of a bike is something that I couldn't imagine. CfC is incredible in its aims and what it accomplishes, so if we can help give some brave children some freedom, a bit of pain for 300 odd miles is well worth it.
