Story
Margaret Lucas was the most wonderful, caring, thoughtful, generous and brave lady that we were all blessed with to call our Mum, Nanna, Sister, Auntie and friend.
Mum sadly passed away on Friday 24th February. She went into hospital for surgery but there were complications that followed and we were given the devastating news that she was too poorly to overcome them. So Mum passed away peacefully with her family around her.
Mum was the type of person that people just loved when they met her which shows with how many wonderful friends she had in her life. She loved helping others, whether that was her own family and friends or by volunteering both at Mencap where both she and Dad had over 30 happy years volunteering and more recently she became involved at the Ukraine welcome Centre .
Mum was always full of life , constantly out and about or pottering around her lovely garden, and had such a positive attitude in life , seeing the best in people and situations. Even when we lost Dad , her true soul mate she still carried on , always keeping busy.
We thought what better way to remember Mum than by setting up a just giving page to help others, Parkinson's UK charity was close to Mum's heart because Dad had lived with it too . But please don't feel that you have to make a donation, just remember Mum in your own special way.
Her funeral is on Monday 3rd April , 3pm at Thornton Crematorium , and you are welcome to join us afterwards at the Grapes in Thornton. We are also getting a web link for the service for those that are unable to come which we will post on Facebook too.
One of mum's wishes was "black can be worn but also a nice colour with it"
