Story
We are so devastated by the loss of Rae and like others in this situation we want to try to do something positive.
The tributes to him have given such comfort and reflect the wonderful husband, father and friend that he was.
Kind, witty, talented, wise, courteous and incredibly supportive, not just to his family but to friends and work colleagues too.
Above all, he was just so interesting. We’re biased of course, but he was the person you wanted to get stuck with in a crowded room and we’ve been so lucky to have him in our lives.
We’ve chosen 3 charities we’d like to support in his memory.
It’s easy to feel defeated in the face of this terrible disease which struck Rae twice. He gave regularly to Cancer Research UK and although it doesn’t always feel like it, progress is being made.
As well as those who are trying to cure, there are those that care and comfort too. We’ve benefited so much from the kindness and dedication of dozens of doctors and nurses. Trinity Hospice gave us a beautiful, tranquil setting to spend time together.
Rae believed strongly that your surroundings, the natural landscape, can bring joy and inspiration: a sunset, a view of the loch or mountain, spotting dolphins and eagles. For us all, Scotland did that in spectacular style. Rae lived his life in spectacular style.
Please give if you can.
With love, Vicki, Ellen & James
