Fundraising for Brain Tumour Research
My mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age off 69 , just a week or so before her 70th Birthday. She couldn’t understand why she would lose her balance and fall over , she got very forgetful and went down hill very quickly , she had lots of test and scans as you can imagine , on the 30th Nove 2010 she had an operation on her brain to remove the tumour, when I went to see her she had staples going across her scalp, she couldn’t feed herself , she was almost child like .
She was still my mum, I visited her everyday and took my handicapped sister to see her as well which was so difficult as she didn’t really understand . It was heart wrenching, I had to remain strong for her and my children. A week before Christmas she took a turn for the worst , our mum became unresponsive, she was rushed back to John Radcliffes hospital in Oxford but never regained conscientious. This was the worst 4 months of my life. Mum sadly passed away on the 25th February 2011.
I want to help to raise money to research why these tumours occur and what can be done to prevent / cure them .
