Henry’s story
In May 2022 Henry came into the world via emergency c-section at 26 weeks and 3 days weighing a tiny 675g. Henry needed to be transferred to a level 3 neonatal unit so he could receive the highest level of intensive care. This was when it was decided Henry would be moved to Royal London hospital. Henry was born in a very fragile state and needed a lot of support to make it through the early stages of his life.
Little did we know how long the road home for Henry was. Henry had many surgeries and procedures, some very good days and a lot of bad days for him and us.
We were finally able to bring him home with us to meet his older brother Albie in February 2023 after 10 long months. It was a day that we will never ever forget and wouldn’t be possible without the amazing care, support and resources Bliss helped to provide us during the hardest time of our lives.
We know we have a long journey ahead of us and Henry is still receiving lots of care and support at home and from the community, but the help and care he received in the most difficult and traumatic stages of his young life have allowed him and us to look forward to an amazing future together as a family.
Henry is the happiest, cheekiest most loving little boy you could hope to meet and has always been determined to do things his way, however he wouldn’t have been able to do it alone. We would like to thank Bliss for everything they have done for our little family, not just the for the things that we can see and understand, but all of the work and dedication behind the scenes that made ours and Henry’s story a successful one.
