Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2012, after months of battling I sadly said my final goodbye to my Dad, holding his hand as he took his last breath.
In December 2011 Dad had fluid drained from his lung and a biopsy was taken. In January 2012 we were given the awful news, Dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, and given 9-12 months.
Mesothelioma is a form of lung cancer caused by asbestos. There is currently nothing that can be done to help people with this other than to make life as comfortable as possible.
Many years ago people didn't know that asbestos could cause cancer and is in the body for many years before it is picked up. Dad had it for about 30-40 years without knowledge. Over the next 10 years it is expected that the amount of people diagnosed with Mesothelioma will increase and I would like to help with the research into, I hope and pray, a cure.
Please, please, please, help by donating to help with this research.
I also need to get through the 26 mile run!!!!!
If you live in the UK, please don't forget to click the gift aid, it gives Barts charity an extra donation from the government, as you are a taxpayer :-)
