Story
I really like the Chinese proverb that says: Use your smile to change the world; don't let the world change your smile.
And a smile is definitely not the one word starting with an 's' many of us would use to summarise this crazy year... However, it's not over yet. So, if this is my chance to not just bathe in an ice-cold pool of endorphins but to put a smile on at least one other face - hell yeah - I will take it! And, together, maybe we could bring a little bit of sunshine into other people's lives too - especially those who need it more than us. That's why I'm supporting Manchester Mind.
Although there's not many things that can surprise us this year anymore, here it comes, as absurd as it may sound, a guy wearing a yellow mankini jumping into the water in Salford Quays in the morning of the 1st of January 2021 (NYD swim by USWIM)!
Let's kickstart the New Year with a healthy dose of cold-triggered euphoria and a bit of a laugh! Inspired by Wim Hof (aka the Iceman) and Borat (putting Mankini's on the map) we have ended up with a Viking in a Manc-ini (aka ME). So meet me at the finish line for a "High-Five"!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for all your donations to this wonderful charity.
Manchester Mind is an independent, local charity, which supports over 6,500 children, young people and adults each year. They believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and I wish this little campaign could contribute to that cause.
I am also part of VIBE Manchester - the Mancunian epicentre of positive vibes and an engaging creative media content publisher, which will be covering my preparation before the swim over the next 10 days. Watch out for my updates on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok!
