Story
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Just giving Page.
For anyone who knows me, they know how much I LOVE running. I've not always had a great relationship with running, more of a seasonal runner. I would only run if it wasn't raining, windy, cold or dark!) So not that much really.
Then l had my children Lucia four and Byron one, and decided I want to get fit and healthy to be a good role model for them, and be able to run around with them. So my journey began ..........
After a few months of Byron being born I was still breastfeeding and extremely overweight. So I plucked up the courage to go for a "run". I was so overweight I had to wear my husband Dan's sports gear as I couldn't fit into any of mine.He had to help me into my sports bras (X2) and I was wearing 4 breast pads!! So off I went, full of hope that I might still be a little bit fit(yeah right)...I got to the end of the road and couldn't breath let alone run, I burst out crying and walked home with my head in the gutter.
But this self pity didn't last long as I was determined, so with the support of Dan, I slowly started running regularly eating healthily and the weight came off,my running got faster and longer,my confidence grew. I even raced a 10K and two half marathon last year. I've lost 3 stone in weight and feel fabulous.
So a full marathon!! WOW this is a massive challenge for me, DOUBLE the distance I have ever run! The training alone will see me run nearly 500 miles over 17 weeks which I have already started.
I am running for The Norfolk Heart Trust. A charity that is very close to "My heart" .As a Nurse working in the Cardiology department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. I see first hand the difference the Norfolk Heart Trust makes to the lives of people in Norfolk with heart disease.
I am immensely proud to be running this marathon in their honour, in the hope of raising much needed awareness and funds to keep the Norfolk Heart Trust helping the lives of the people around us.
I honestly cant believe I am going to run 26.2 miles! I will keep u all updated on how my journey is going on here and Facebook.
Wish me luck everyone and thank you again.
