Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Tess, Ryan and Louise will be trotting along for 10k at 9am on Saturday 24th May in donkey outfits in aid of the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust. Our aim is to raise enough money to provide a very basic veterinary kit for the 40 livestock assistants who attended the recent training at the GHDT Sambel Kunda clinic. They provide much of the veterinary care to thousands of working horses and donkeys throughout the Gambia. £400 will allow us to buy each assistant a stethoscope, thermometer and pentorch so that they can better assess and care for their patients. Families of very limited means depend on these animals for their primary income.  Any donations, however small, will be very much appreciated by us, the charity and the livestock assistants.

If we are lucky enough to exceed our target, the Trust will gratefully use your donations to feed and care for the patients at the Sambel Kunda clinic.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
