Story
In just 2 short weeks our rag-tag band of adventurers will be embarking on a 3 hour (hopefully) journey through the icy chills and boggy thrills of a Tough Mudder Challenge! We’ll be wheezing our way through the 10-mile course and tackling 25 huge obstacles, including icy water, 25ft towers and electric shocks. Marvellous news!
The team taking on this delightful challenge are:
Emily:
Special strength: Plant power
Most likely to: Ask for a piggyback halfway through
Hannah:
Special strength: Optimism
Most likely to: Have bitten off more than she can chew
Simon:
Special strength: Cheering on the side-lines
Most likely to: Injure himself just to get out of the car
Imran:
Special Strength: Perfectionist
Most likely to: well we’ll find out on the day
Jason:
Special strength: An unjustified sense of overconfidence and invincibility
Most likely to: Shatter this illusion
Becky:
Special strength: Acrobatic Yoga
Most likely to: End up with a bruised bottom
You might be tempted to ask why we will be putting ourselves through this ordeal when all you get at the end is some questionable stash and a finishing beer (as if that wasn’t reason enough!). But alongside
this ample reward, and the sense of exhaustion self-satisfaction, we will be raising money for a couple of charities that are very close to our heart and would really appreciate your support.
Our first choice of charity is Marie Curie, which provides care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families. Marie Curie is close to our hearts and we believe such a charity like Marie Curie make a real difference to those in need during times when they need it the most.
Our second charity of choice is The House of St Barnabas which is a charity that helps London's homeless back into work, providing them with the workplace experience and training needed to create a future where sustained employment is a reality. Veran has been a supporter of this important cause since 2018, and you can often find members of our team doing their bit by visiting its members club.
