Earth, Wind and Tyre · 13 June 2015 to 14 June 2015 ·
On 13th and 14th June four team members from the renewable energy company vento ludens UK - Robert McMurray, Tom Healy, Matthew Haughton and Tom O’ Hare - will embark on a 200 mile cycle ride from Durham to Edinburgh.
This is a massive challenge for us and we will be fundraising to help tackle poverty through renewable energy. As a company we have a commitment to supporting local communities throughout project development in the UK. The Earth, Wind and Tyre cycle challenge provides an opportunity for us to contribute something to smaller developing communities which need it most.
If you or your organisation is interested in supporting us, we would be very grateful for any sponsorship that you can offer. Our aim is to raise over £2,000 and any support would help us to meet this ambitious target. All funds will contribute to the valuable work of Renewable World and help keep us motivated while we train hard for the next 9 weeks.
Following the terrible news of the earthquake in Nepal, Renewable World needs your support now more than ever.
Many of the communities that Renewable World works with have been severely affected by the largest earthquake to hit the region in 80 years. Fortunately, the Renewable World staff and their families are safe, but we expect large scale damage to the communities where our work has previously helped so many. Essential systems that we have installed are likely to be broken, depriving communities of the water and energy they so desperately need.
Renewable World is committed to restoring the life-changing services that these communities once had access to, whilst pressing forward with its mission to alleviate poverty around the world.
