Story
In 2016 sadly St Luke's Hospice became our second home. We were taken aback by their passion, sensitivity and respect for the ordeal we were going through. The first day we took my father-in-law there, the nurses were very welcoming. They told him to make himself feel at home. This bought him to tears to think he would be spending a considerable amount of time there. Sometime later, my father-in-law took the opportunity to come home and spend his remaining time there. It did not take him long to realise the comforts provided by the hospice were not fully achievable at home. Soon we found ourselves back at the hospice but he had no tears this time. There was a sense of relief and content. Not many organisations can make a terminally ill patient feel this way, but St Luke’s Hospice have that magical power.
Last year we were overwhelmed with the support we received to help us raise money for St Luke's Hospice. We will never forget the love and support they gave our family and most importantly my father-in-law in his time of need.
With the festive period upon us and particularly one of my father-in-laws
favourite times of the year, I hope you can help me raise money for this
wonderful charity.
