My 40th Birthday Challenge: To run the Virgin London Marathon 2012. You may be asking why? Well it's always been on my list of things that I'd like to achieve. If I'm honest I never thought I'd do it, but having run The Great South Run last year, I know that whilst it will be a challenge that I will have to work hard to achieve, it is within my capability. I have the best motivation I could ask for: I am running in loving memory of my Dad, who died, aged just 70, on 7th September this year. He had suffered with Alzheimer's since his diagnosis 6 years ago. He did not get the chance to realise all of his dreams, in fact he didn't even get to share his retirement with his wife, this cruel disease, denied him everything he had worked so hard for, all his life. His illness has taught me that you cannot keep putting things off, as you never know whether the opportunity will arise again. So this is me... asking for you to support me, and raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, who offered so much support to our family throughout his illness, so that I can honour his memory and also demonstrate my gratitude to my amazing Mum, for doing such an incredible job of taking care of him.
