Hi everyone and thanks for visiting our fundraising page! 

We are not built to run a marathon! But together Phil, Daniel, Chip and I will be taking on One Big Walk to help support Mencap's work and help others like us find the information, services and support they need.

You may already know Daniel was diagnosed with autism when he was 3. At times for us learning about how to best support him was overwhelming and sometimes we just didn't know where to turn for information. We don't speak out alot about how this affects our family day to day but there are many times when we find things hard to say the least.   

The Mencap website was a vital source of information for us in finding support with everything from education and healthcare plans (anyone who has been through that process knows how complicated it can be!) to giving us the confidence to be the best parents and advocates for Daniel. 

Ultimately we want the world to be a better place for people with a learning disability, where they are valued equally, listened to and included. Its everything we want for Daniel and his future.

We will be walking 1.5 miles each day from January 17th (Daniels birthday!) through to January 30th which represents the 1.5m people in the UK with a learning disability.

We'd love it if you could make a donation to support us, even the smallest donation would help us reach our target and in turn ensure that Mencap is there to support more families like ours when they need it most.
