Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you know, I started running in September 2013 - my first goal was to run 5k which I did in June 2014. I hit my second goal of running 10k in September this year (2015) and my goal for 2016 is to run the Cheltenham Half Marathon. RA, FMS and Degenerative Disc Disease mean that my running journey has been a bit up and down, but despite the challenges they pose, I'm determined to keep running, and setting myself these goals really helps to keep me motivated and focussed. If I can raise money for very worthy charities in the process, then that makes all the pain and hard work worth it.
For previous events I've raised money for Teenage Cancer Trust, but this year I'm raising money for a smaller charity local to me, who have helped two families that I know, after the loss of a parent ~ Winston's Wish, a charity for bereaved children. The death of a parent or sibling is one of the most fundamental losses a child will ever face. At Winston’s Wish, they believe that bereaved children need support to make sense of death and rebuild their lives – and that is why they exist. Their mission is to ensure the resilience of children confronted by the death of someone important to them by providing high quality services that meet their needs.
